Alvelo has a Shiba Inu named Koa. She is currently coaching and helping run a youth travel softball team in Mississippi, and also gives lessons.

Alvelo was selected eighth overall in the 2019 NPF Draft by the Aussie Peppers and traded to the USSSA Pride. She posted a 1.38 ERA in her rookie season. She signed with the Chicago Bandits in 2020. Alvelo is also a member of the Puerto Rican National Team and won a bronze medal at the 2019 Pan American Games.
