Personal: Sutherlin graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology. She is currently working on obtaining her master's degree in financial management from Boston University. Sutherlin is involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee at both Pacific and Cal State Fullerton. She credits former Athletes Unlimited Softball pitcher and Cal State Fullerton pitching coach Danielle O'Toole as someone who has made a difference in her life. In her free time, Sutherlin enjoys reading, particularly the works of Stephen King. She reads over 50 books every year. She also loves traveling and trying new foods. In addition to softball, she has a black belt in karate and has competed in swimming and badminton. She is currently learning Italian and can speak conversationally in Turkish. Sutherlin wears the number 36 in honor of her favorite basketball player, Marcus Smart. Her walk-up song is "Killer Queen" by Queen.

Other Professional Experience: Sutherlin authored 4-1 record with 0.22 earned run average in five appearances with Team Forli in Italy during 2023 season. She allowed just one earned run over 32.0 innings with 37 strikeouts and three shutouts. 

At Cal State Fullerton: Sutherlin spent her final two seasons at Cal State Fullerton. Over her five-year career, she appeared in 121 games, including 85 starts. She compiled a 2.31 earned run average in 567.0 innings, with 16 shutouts and 43 complete games. She had a career record of 54-30 with one save. During her time at Cal State Fullerton, Sutherlin led the Titans to back-to-back NCAA Regional berths. In her final season, she was named the 2023 Big West Conference Pitcher of the Year and received Second-Team NFCA All-West Region honors. She had a career-high 20 victories with a 1.64 earned run average in 200.2 innings. She ranked 31st in NCAA Division I in innings pitched and ninth in strikeouts with 242. She led the Big West Conference in wins, strikeouts, complete games, and shutouts.


At Pacific: Sutherlin played three years at Pacific, where she made 50 appearances in three seasons with 29 starts. She finished with a 2.85 earned run average and 192 strikeouts in 216.1 innings. She earned First-Team All-West Coast Conference accolades in 2021.
