Personal: Flippen graduated from Utah with a degree in human development and family studies. Her mother, Mary Lou Flippen, was an All-America softball player at Utah State and led the Aggies to national titles in 1980 and 1981. Flippen's favorite softball memory is hosting NCAA Regionals in Utah and beating BYU to advance to the Super Regionals. If she was not playing softball, she would be a professional tennis player or teacher. She also played basketball and volleyball in high school. Flippen's hobbies include walking, hiking, reading, watching Netflix, and sitting in hammocks. She wears No. 19 because her family members also wore it during their playing career and in honor of Hall of Fame baseball player Tony Gwynn.

2024 Championship Season: Flippen posted a 14th-place finish after recording 1,368 leaderboard points, including 1,080 win points. She was a member of the AU Pro Softball All-Defensive Team for the fourth consecutive season. Flippen started in all 15 games, hitting .244 with three doubles. She drew eight walks and drove in three runs. She collected a season-high 180 leaderboard points against Team Kilfoyl on August 3 in an MVP 2 performance, going 1-for-3 with a double and two runs batted in. Flippen opened Week Four with an MVP 3 effort against Team Faraimo, earning 170 leaderboard points after going 2-for-4 with a double. She authored seven games with 100 or more leaderboard points, including five of her final six outings.


2024 AUX Season: Flippen accumulated 888 leaderboard points while making Athletes Unlimited Pro Softball AUX debut. She is a two-time Defensive MVP honoree who registered five games with 100 or more leaderboard points. Flippen was a starter in all 12 games and batted .242 with eight hits, including a double and a home run. She scored seven runs while collecting four runs batted in and drew eight walks. Flippen hit safely in six consecutive games from June 13-22 and notched her lone multi-hit affair of the season against Team Alo on June 19. She hit a home run against Team Mazon on June 22 and collected a season-high 140 leaderboard points three times.


2023 Championship Season: Flippen had the best finish of her Athletes Unlimited career after placing 10th in the league standings with 1,524 leaderboard points. She also claimed her second straight appearance on Athletes Unlimited Softball All-Defensive Team. Flippen tallied 1,170 win points, which put her in seventh place in the league, tied with Jordan Roberts. During the final week of the season, she served as a team captain. She started in all 15 games and had a .214 batting average. Flippen tallied nine hits, including a double and two home runs, and drove in seven runs while drawing seven walks. She earned MVP 1 distinction on August 19 after driving in three runs with a home run as part of a 2-for-3 effort against Team Urtez. She secured MVP 2 honors on August 20 after hitting a grand slam against Team Nickles in a 6-0 victory. Flippen had 10 games with 100 or more leaderboard points, including a seven-game stretch from August 6-20.


2022 Championship Season: Flippen was honored as the Athletes Unlimited GEICO Defensive Player of the Year. She was also a member of the Athletes Unlimited Softball All-Defensive Team. Flippen had a .983 fielding percentage with just one error in 59 chances. She was involved in a league-high eight double plays. Flippen started all 15 games and had a batting average of .306 with two home runs and six runs batted in. She began the season with an eight-game hitting streak and had four multi-hit games during that time. Flippen had a standout game on August 13 against Team Jaquish, where she went 3-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored, and two runs batted in, earning her a season-high 210 leaderboard points. She also had three hits with two runs batted in against Team Zerkle to finish Week One, and opened Week Two with a home run against Team Mulipola.


2021 Championship Season: Flippen finished 28th on the leaderboard with 1,146 points. She started in all 15 games and had a batting average of .267 with a home run and five runs batted in. Flippen was hit by a pitch twice, tying for third in the league, and went 2-for-4 in stolen base attempts.


2020 Championship Season: Flippen tallied 1,420 leaderboard points, finishing in 19th place. She started all 15 games and had a batting average of .340 with six home runs and 18 runs batted in. Flippen tied for the league lead with 53 at-bats and ranked second in the circuit with 18 runs batted in. She also had seven walks, 15 runs scored, and went 4-for-5 in stolen base attempts. Flippen was one of 12 players to hit at least one triple.


International Experience: Flippen was a proud member of Team USA from 2016-18. She competed in the 2016 World Cup of Softball with the Women’s Elite Team and put on an impressive performance, hitting .500 (6-for-12) with two runs, four runs batted in and four runs scored. She also won a Silver medal at the 2017 World Cup of Softball. Flippen was a valuable member of the Gold medal-winning team at the 2017 Pan American Championship, where she batted .273 with five runs and two doubles. She earned a Bronze medal at the 2018 USA Softball International Cup and led the tournament with an impressive plate number of 1 while hitting .609. Flippen also played a crucial role in leading Team USA to the Canada Cup title, hitting .458 (11-for-24) with five doubles and four home runs. She was selected to compete for Team USA at The 2022 World Games in Birmingham, Alabama, where she led the team to a Gold medal by hitting .250 (4-for-12) with two home runs and four runs batted in over five games. Flippen was one of four players in the tournament with multiple home runs and also paced the tournament field with four walks. She was named the Most Outstanding Player at the 2023 WBSC World Cup Group A event after hitting .462 (6-for-13) with a double and tournament-high six runs batted in. Finally, Flippen was named to the Team USA roster for the 2024 WBSC World Cup Finals, where she is expected to continue to shine.


Other Professional Experience: Flippen played for the NPF champion Scrap Yard Dawgs in 2017. She hit .327 with two home runs and six runs batted in while appearing in 19 games. In 2022, she competed for Hitachi Sundivas of the Japan Diamond League. Flippen hit .278 with eight home runs and 16 runs batted in over 27 games, while also tallying two doubles and two triples. In 2023, she authored a .299 batting average over 29 games with Hitachi, collecting 23 hits that included eight home runs and four doubles.

At Utah: Flippen played 219 games from 2014-2017. She had a career batting average of .390 with 33 home runs and 145 runs batted in. Flippen recorded 261 hits, including 35 doubles and 13 triples, and scored 197 runs. She was a three-time NFCA All-America selection, earning First-Team distinction as a junior and senior. Flippen was also a two-time Pac-12 Conference Player of the Year and received NFCA All-Region and All-Pac 12 honors four times. She was a three-time Pac-12 All-Defensive Team honoree and was named the 2017 Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year. Flippen received two First-Team CoSIDA Academic All-America awards. She holds Utah career records in batting average, hits, and runs scored, and is tied for third on the Utes' career triples list. Flippen is also tied for fifth in career home runs at Utah and drew 105 career walks, the third-highest total in program history. She ranked sixth in NCAA Division I as a freshman with six triples and was recognized on the Pac 12 All-Freshman Team.
