2023 Rawlings Gold Glove Award Winner

Playing for American Foundation for Suicide Prevention

Personal: Skaggs is the daughter of Jim and Michelle Skaggs and has one older brother named Ben. She aspires to become a sports editor/producer and has a dog named Miles. Skaggs lists Jenny Dalton-Hill as a person who has made a difference in her life. Growing up, she also played field hockey and ice hockey, and was involved with choir and drama class in middle school. Skaggs enjoys playing other sports, spending time outdoors, doing puzzles, coloring, writing in her journal, listening to music, and singing. Her proudest accomplishments are winning the Rawlings Gold Glove and Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year awards, as well as earning All-America honors. She likes to take late-night drives just to sing as loud as she can.

At Arizona: Skaggs was a four-year letter winner at Arizona, starting in 188 out of 201 games from 2021 to 2024. She fashioned a .328 career batting average and ranks 13th in Arizona history with 57 home runs, including seven grand slams. Skaggs also collected 181 runs batted in and ended her college career with 177 base hits, including 20 doubles and two triples. She achieved a .973 career fielding percentage.

As a sophomore, Skaggs was a Second-Team NFCA All-America honoree. She was a three-time NFCA All-West Region selection, including First-Team recognition as a sophomore and senior. She garnered D1Softball All-America laurels during her junior and senior campaigns and received the 2023 Rawlings Gold Glove Award after committing zero errors in 168 total chances at second base. Additionally, she was recognized as the 2023 Pac-12 Conference Defensive Player of the Year and was a three-time All-Pac-12 pick, earning back-to-back First-Team nods as a junior and senior.

During her senior season, Skaggs started all 56 games at second base. She was sixth in the Pac-12 with a team-high 14 home runs and ranked fifth in the Pac-12 with 48 runs batted in. She tallied 13 multi-hit games, including three games with three-hit performances, and slugged her 50th career home run at Oregon State on March 9, 2024. In her junior year, Skaggs started all 54 games and became only the second baseman in program history to post a 1.000 fielding percentage during a single season. She led the Pac-12 with 64 runs batted in and ranked fifth with 14 home runs.

As a sophomore, Skaggs blasted four grand slams, including a pair against Arizona State, and registered a career-high seven runs batted in against Texas A&M-Commerce on March 3, 2023. She started all 61 games that season, ranked fifth in NCAA Division I with 24 home runs, and was seventh in the Pac-12 with 65 hits. Skaggs tied the Arizona single-game record with three home runs against UTEP on April 19, 2022, and totaled 18 multi-hit efforts, including four games with three hits. As a freshman, she appeared in 30 games with 17 starts, hitting five home runs and driving in three runs.
