Erika Piancastelli Signs with the AUSL for 2025 Season
Outfielder Erika Piancastelli has signed with the Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL) for its inaugural season. The AUSL is a professional women’s softball league featuring four teams playing in a traditional format. The league will begin play this summer.
Piancastelli has been a competitor within AU since its inception, finishing in the top half of the Championship Season leaderboard every year. She was a medalist in 2020 when she earned fourth place overall. She is one of only five players to have appeared in all 75 possible career games in Championship Season play.
Most recently, she closed the 2024 season with a 15th-place finish on the leaderboard. She is the Championship Season all-time leader in home runs after hitting the 18th bomb of her AU career in 2024. Piancastelli is also third in Championship Season history for career RBIs (48) and second in total bases (129)
She has been a member of the Italian National Team since 2015 and competed at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
The general managers of the four teams will assemble the inaugural rosters at the AUSL Inaugural Draft, which will take place on January 29.
