Outfielder Bubba Nickles has signed with the Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL) for its inaugural season. The AUSL is a professional women’s softball league featuring four teams playing in a traditional format. The league will begin play this summer.
Nickles is coming in off a hot summer after being crowned the 2024 AUX Champion. Despite being a condensed season it took no time for Nickles to find her groove. She started in all 12 games, authoring 10 hits, five of which were home runs. She drove in 11 runs while scoring eight times. Nickles also fashioned a 7-5 game win record, including a 3-1 mark as a captain during the final series that secured her first place.
She has earned AU All-Defensive Team plaudits for three consecutive seasons. Nickles has a career AU batting average of .279 with a hefty slugging percentage of .530.
Nickles competed for Team USA at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics where she earned a silver medal and was a four-year letter winner at UCLA.
The general managers of the four teams will assemble the inaugural rosters at the AUSL Inaugural Draft, which will take place on January 29th.
