The Athletes Unlimited Softball League Championship between the Bandits and Talons is just over a week away, but there’s more hardware to be handed out before the AUSL Championship Trophy.
The league opened its end-of-season awards ballot on Friday afternoon for Most Valuable Player, Hitter of the Year, Pitcher of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and the All-Defensive Team.
Team and league personnel, AUSL Player Executive Committee members, broadcasters, beat writers, selected media members, and fans are invited to vote.
General managers and head coaches nominated candidates for MVP, while the remaining awards feature candidates based on the following criteria:
- Hitter of the Year: Minimum of 42 PA through July 17, 2025
- Pitcher of the Year: Minimum of 27 IP through July 17, 2025
- Rookie of the Year: A candidate must be in their first year of playing professional softball
- Defensive Player of the Year: A candidate must play a minimum of 60% of their team’s innings (76 IP through July 17, 2025)
- All-Defensive Team: A candidate must play a minimum of 60% of their team’s innings to be considered for a specific position (76 IP through July 17, 2025)
- The All-Defensive Team will consist of the following selections:
- Pitcher (1)
- Utility (1)
- Catcher (1)
- Corner Infield (2)
- Middle Infield (2)
- Outfield (3)
- If a player qualifies for a specific position, they will be nominated for that position even if they have played multiple positions during the season
- The All-Defensive Team will consist of the following selections:
Voting is open until Monday, July 21, at 8 p.m. ET. Fans can cast their ballot here.
Winners for Hitter of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Pitcher of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and All-Defensive Team awards will be announced on Wednesday, July 23. The MVP award will be announced on Saturday, July 26, ahead of the AUSL Championship between the Bandits and Talons.
