The Utah Talons have signed pitcher Dallas Escobedo Magee ahead of the 2026 Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL) season. Escobedo Magee is the first addition to the team since the Talons selected new athletes in the AUSL Expansion Draft in December.
Escobedo Magee, who has competed in the Toyota Industries Shining Vega in the Japan Diamond League since 2019, opted out of international play this year. While multiple AUSL teams expressed interest in signing the veteran pitcher, the Talons’ priority was decided via lottery.
She was a four-year starter at Arizona State, where she helped the team win the 2011 Women’s College World Series title as a freshman. That season, she was the Pac-10 Freshman of the Year and WCWS co-Most Outstanding Player.
Escobedo Magee has had an extensive pro career since then, making her a valuable addition to the Talons’ pitching staff. She was the first overall pick in the National Pro Fastpitch draft by the Pennsylvania Rebellion in 2014. She joined Toyota Industries Shining Vega in the Japan Diamond League in 2019.
She is also a 2020 Tokyo Olympian, representing Team Mexico. Escobedo Magee recorded a 2-2 record at the games, tossing 20.0 innings to finish with a 2.45 ERA and 1.15 WHIP, with 13 strikeouts.
The Talons have roster space for another pitcher and will complete the 2026 team with two selections in the AUSL College Draft. Golden Tickets are currently being handed out to NCAA seniors across the country, and you can find out which teams they were selected by on May 4 at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
