From golden ticket recipient to one of the first five players off the board in the 2025 AUSL College Draft, Sierra Sacco has officially signed her rookie contract with the Talons.

Sacco, a second-round selection (No. 5 overall), was one of just 12 rookies in the country drafted into the Athletes Unlimited Softball League after a record-setting final season at Mississippi State.

The lefty sparkplug was a fixture at the top of the lineup and started all 58 games in center field for the Bulldogs. She batted .450 on the year—second-best in the SEC, top-15 in the nation, and fourth in Mississippi State history.

Her numbers jump off the page: 81 hits, 64 runs, 19 doubles, 11 home runs, 49 RBIs, 16 stolen bases. She led the team in nearly every major offensive category while anchoring the outfield with a perfect defensive season. Her 27 multi-hit games rank sixth in school history.

Her senior campaign proved worthy of national recognition. Sacco earned First Team All-SEC and First Team NFCA All-South Region honors, was named a Softball America First Team All-American, and ranked as the No. 4 outfielder in the country in April. She was also a Top 25 finalist for USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year.

But Sacco’s journey to the AUSL didn’t begin in Starkville. At Louisiana Tech, she was the 2022 Conference USA Freshman of the Year and a top-10 finalist for the Schutt Sports/NFCA National Freshman of the Year award. Across both programs, her consistency and toughness defined her.

Now, she brings that same fire to the pros. With the signing of Sacco, the Talons add a savvy outfielder who combines offensive pop and disruptive speed on the bases—a game-changing presence in all three phases.

The AUSL is a professional women’s softball league featuring four teams playing in a traditional format. Tickets to the 2025 season are on sale now.
