Madi Huskey

Personal: Huskey is the daughter of Lyla and David Huskey and has two siblings. She interned in the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Department for the University of Washington Department of Athletics. Huskey enjoys cooking and spent the summer of 2021 working in a kitchen that cooked for Major League Baseball teams playing in Seattle. If she wasn't playing softball, she would pursue a career as a chef. Her walk-up song is "Golden" by Jill Scott.

International Experience: Huskey has represented Team USA in international competitions, including the 2019 WBSC U-19 Women's Softball World Cup, where she helped the team win a gold medal. She also earned a bronze medal at the 2019 USA Softball International Cup. 

At Washington: Huskey played for Washington for five years, appearing in 208 games with 176 starts from 2019-2023. She finished her college career with a .297 batting average, hitting 37 home runs and driving in 133 runs. Huskey recorded 165 hits, including 25 doubles and six triples, and scored 113 runs. She was nominated for the 2023 NCAA Woman of the Year award and received several accolades, including being a two-time Second-Team NFCA All-Pacific Region selection and earning All-Pac 12 Conference commendations. As a senior, she received First-Team notice and was the recipient of the 2023 Rawlings Gold Glove Award. In her final season, Huskey hit .315 with 11 home runs and 43 runs batted in, earning Second-Team All-Pac 12 honors. She led the Huskies with three triples and six sacrifice flies and started every game. In her junior year, she hit .299 with five home runs and 18 runs batted in. Huskey appeared in 10 games during the shortened 2020 season and had 30 hits over 48 contests with five home runs and 17 runs batted in as a rookie.

Last year, Karlyn Pickens launched into the sports stratosphere when she set the record for the fastest pitch in NCAA softball history at 79.4 mph 🔥

Yesterday, it was announced she signed the first-ever NIL deal with the AUSL ✍️

BREAKING NEWS: Karlyn Pickens has signed the first-ever NIL deal with the AUSL ✍️

A consensus first-team All-American in 2024 and 2025 and the two-time defending SEC Pitcher of the Year, Pickens recorded the fastest pitch in NCAA history last season at 79.4 MPH (equivalent to a 111.7 MPH pitch in MLB).
