Personal: McMillan is the daughter of Kara Duncan and Shannon McMillan and has one sibling. She majored in human nutrition, foods, and exercise at Virginia Tech. She has two cats named Kyla and Kiger. She credits Virginia Tech head softball coach Pete D’Amour as a person who has made a significant difference in her life. McMillan also considers her mother one of her idols because she taught her to find happiness in everything. As a child, she was involved in Girl Scouts and played basketball. One of her proudest accomplishments is earning the opportunity to play professional softball. A moment when she felt starstruck was meeting AUSL commissioner Kim Ng and receiving the Golden Ticket at The Gobblers awards show.

College Experience: McMillan is a two-year letter winner at Virginia Tech after beginning her collegiate career at Radford University. Over her career, McMillan appeared in 204 total games, hitting 69 home runs and driving in 188 runs. She compiled 233 career hits, including 41 doubles and five triples. McMillan was a two-time First-Team All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection and earned the league’s Player of the Year honor as a senior. She was a consensus First-Team All-America selection by Softball America, D1Softball, and the NFCA during her senior year. Additionally, she was a Top 10 Finalist for the 2025 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award. She earned First-Team NFCA All-Mid-Atlantic Region honors as both a junior and senior. At Virginia Tech, McMillan holds the career records for slugging percentage (.963), batting average (.407), and on-base percentage (.514). She also ranks second in school history with 52 career home runs. In the 2025 season, she hit .432 with a school-record 31 home runs and 65 runs batted in. McMillan became the first player in ACC history to hit 30 home runs in a single season. She totaled 73 hits, including 11 doubles, and scored a career-high 75 runs, setting a Virginia Tech single-season record. She also established new Virginia Tech single-season marks for slugging percentage (1.047), on-base percentage (.549), and total bases (177). During the 2025 season, McMillan hit three home runs to help lead the Hokies to a 21-0 victory at Pittsburgh on April 18. She also hit two home runs against Florida State on May 2 and helped Virginia Tech secure an 8-6 win over Florida State in the regular season finale with another two-home run performance. Additionally, she added two home runs against Longwood in a 7-1 victory on March 19. As a junior, McMillan earned a starting assignment in 51 games. She was a Second-Team NFCA All-America performer, hitting 21 home runs and driving in 64 runs—the second-highest RBI total in school history. She also went a perfect 20-for-20 in stolen base attempts. Her contributions helped Virginia Tech set a single-season team home run record while establishing a new individual school single-season mark. At Radford, McMillan hit .345 over two seasons, collecting 102 hits, including 22 doubles and 17 home runs. She also drove in 59 runs and stole 31 bases. In 2022, she earned Top 25 Finalist honors for the NFCA Freshman of the Year award after hitting .365 with 14 home runs and 13 doubles. That season, she was named First-Team All-Big South Conference and received NFCA All-Mid-Atlantic Region recognition. With the help of Olympian and IMG Academy’s Director of Softball, Joey Lye, youth athletes participated in offensive mindset sessions, and our IMG Academy Days at the Park brought our softball communities together.

Thanks for a great summer @imgasoftball!
