AUSL Pitcher of the Series: Pitcher Payton Gottshall’s effectiveness in a mid-relief role shone in the Volts’ two-game series against the Bandits and earned her Pitcher of the Series honors. She made appearances in both games, throwing seven total innings, the most of any pitcher in Series 8. Gottshall allowed just six hits, two earned runs, and three walks in the outings. In the victory on Wednesday, she allowed one run on three hits over 4.0 innings of relief and tallied a season-high six strikeouts.
AUSL Player of the Series: Infielder Aubrey Leach went a staggering 7-for-9 as the Blaze faced the Bandits in the final two games of the regular season. On Tuesday night, Leach became the first player in AUSL history to record a five-hit outing, collecting four singles and a double. She recorded three runs, two RBIs, and eight total bases to close out the season with her squad.
