Teams wearing the gold jersey remain undefeated after Series 3, dominating the win points yet again. After the three-game set in Rosemont, Ill., captain Kayla Kowalik and her team collected the most win points, securing three-game victories and 12 inning wins for 330 total win points.
Team Coffey (Blue) and Team Netz (Purple) tied in the category with 180 win points and a 1-2 record. While Team Ricketts (Orange) also picked up a game, they fell short in innings won, with only 90 win points in the series.
Kowalik is the only player in the league with a perfect 7-0 record this season and sits at the top of the leaderboard heading into the final series. These are athletes who made the biggest moves in Series 3 and are in the hunt behind her for the championship.
Mover of the Series: Jessi Warren
The Series 3 mover is third baseman Jessi Warren, who made a 35-spot jump up to 20th overall. She was the highest total point earner of the series, with a season-best 510 points in the three-game slate.
She drew a walk and hit three singles, a double, and two home runs. Her offensive explosion earned her MVP 2 honors in Sunday’s game. Overall, she went 6-for-9 at the plate with six RBIs.
Top 10 Breakthrough: Amanda Lorenz
Amanda Lorenz made a crucial 22-spot leap up the leaderboard, moving to No. 8 overall ahead of the final series. She made up for the two games she lost while competing with Team USA in a big way, collecting 90 stat points and MVP 2 honors. Her surge up the leaderboard was cemented on Tuesday when she collected a season-high 230 leaderboard points. That game, she blasted a two-run home run to left field to give Team Kowalik a four-run cushion.
In the race
All eyes are now on Sunday’s finale when a title will be bestowed upon one player for the All-Star Cup. Kowalik has a hefty lead sitting in first place by almost 400 points. That margin would be difficult to overcome, especially for a player who has had one of the hottest bats in the league all season.
Kowalik’s .538 average is good for second-best in the league, and she leads the circuit overall in hits with 14 through seven games.
Amongst the other three captains and even much of the top 10, things are tight. Rachel Garcia, who has proven this year to put up extended innings and big numbers in the stat and MVP point categories, is behind Erin Coffel in third place by only 18 points. Keilani Ricketts is right on her tail by 68.
Win points will be paramount, and the question remains if anyone can beat Kowalik in the 2025 All-Star Cup.
Up Next
The final series will begin with a doubleheader on August 29 at 6 p.m. ET, as Team Garcia faces Team Coffel, followed by Team Ricketts vs. Team Kowalik.
