Outfielder Aliyah Andrews has signed with the Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL) for its inaugural season. The AUSL is a professional women’s softball league featuring four teams playing in a traditional format. The league will begin play this summer.
Andrews is the reigning AU Softball Defensive Player of the Year who had two spectacular diving catches in 2024, along with a runner she hosed down trying to steal home. On 27 total chances in the outfield, she logged 25 putouts, 2 assists, and no errors. She was voted a Game Defensive MVP twice for her impact as the centerfielder on her teams.
She was a starter in all 15 games who batted .311 with 14 hits and registered at least one hit in 11-of-15 appearances. Andrews has finished in the top 10 on the leaderboard in three different seasons. Andrews was an All-American for the LSU Tigers.
The general managers of the four teams will assemble the inaugural rosters at the AUSL Inaugural Draft, which will take place in early 2025. A college draft will also be held later in the spring, allowing each team to fill out its final roster spots. Details regarding both drafts will be announced at a later date.
