The Volts selected Oklahoma pitcher Sam Landry, Florida State catcher Michaela Edenfield, and LSU utility Danieca Coffey in the 2025 Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL) College Draft on Saturday.
Round 1, Pick 1: Sam Landry, Right-Handed Pitcher, Oklahoma
No. 1 pick Landry is a veteran addition to the Sooners this season. She has been Oklahoma’s go-to pitcher with 143.2 innings and an 18-3 record. Her 2.10 ERA is paired with 147 strikeouts this season. She has 13 complete games and five shutouts, including the 23rd perfect game in OU history.
Landry spent three seasons at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette before a coaching change caused her to explore her options for her final year of eligibility. Last year, as a Ragin’ Cajun, she pitched 194 innings, ringing up 165 strikeouts and a 2.08 ERA. She earned All-Sun Belt First Team honors and was named to the NFCA All-Central Region First Team.
Round 2, Pick 4: Michaela Edenfield, Catcher, FSU
Edenfield is the only catcher in the 2025 draft class and has had an illustrious career as a Seminole. She is a three-time All-ACC selection and was named a Third Team NFCA All-American in 2024. She’s hitting .339 with 13 doubles, eight home runs, and 45 RBIs this season.
She’s been a starter for the Seminoles since her redshirt freshman year, but rose to wider college softball recognition at the 2023 Women’s College World Series as a sophomore. She recorded hits in four of the five games, including a game-tying home run against Tennessee in the semifinals. She was named to the WCWS All-Tournament Team that year.
Round 3, Pick 3: Danieca Coffey, Utility, LSU
Coffey is in the midst of her most productive season yet. With 64 hits and a career-high 38 RBIs, she’s proven to be one of the most reliable bats in the SEC and has made herself a fixture at the top of the Tigers’ lineup.
Her collegiate resume speaks for itself. She’s a two-time NFCA All-Region selection and All-SEC honoree. She posted a .392 average in her junior season, ranking in the top 10 in the SEC while leading LSU in hits, OBP, and stolen bases. Her speed, on-base skills, and defensive versatility have made her a cornerstone for LSU’s infield across five seasons.
The AUSL is a professional women’s softball league featuring four teams playing in a traditional format. Tickets to the 2025 season are on sale now.
