Although Sam Landry’s collegiate softball career came to a close at the Women’s College World Series on Monday, it’s not the end of the road for the Oklahoma pitcher. Landry was selected in the 2025 Athletes Unlimited Softball League College Draft and signed a professional contract with the Volts.

Landry is the final draftee to sign her contract, with the AUSL securing all 12 golden ticket earners to compete in the inaugural season.

The first overall pick in the college draft, Landry is a sought-after addition to the Volts’ pitching staff. She joins Rachel Garcia, Payton Gottshall, Mariah Mazón, and Sam Show as the arms on the squad.

Coming directly off competing in the semifinal match of the WCWS, Landry is accustomed to the pressure of big stages and the responsibility of carrying a large load for a team. The senior transfer from Louisiana-Lafayette was named a 2025 NFCA Second Team All-American. She finished the season with a 25-6 record, recording a 1.94 ERA and 186 strikeouts. She logged 19 complete games and six shutouts while holding batters to a .207 average.

The Volts will open the season versus the Blaze on June 7 in Wichita, Kan. Tickets are on sale now.
