Utility Sam Show has signed with the Volts for the inaugural season of the Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL).

The Volts selected the first 12 players at the inaugural AUSL Draft and Show is the first addition to the team since then.

Show competed in the inaugural AU Championship Season in 2020 as a two-way player. At the plate, Show logged a .306 average in 49 at-bats with five home runs and two doubles. She returned for the 2021 season but had limited playing time.

She spent three seasons at Texas A&M before transferring to Oklahoma State her senior year. Show garnered All-American honors with the Cowgirls in 2019 and played a crucial role in helping OSU to the NCAA Women’s College World Series for the first time since 2011. That year she batted .333 and set single-season records with 20 home runs and 134 total bases. She also pitched, recording a 2.34 ERA and 22 wins.

Most recently, Show competed for the Texas Smoke of the Women’s Professional Fastpitch (WPF) softball league and received All-WPF honors.

The AUSL is a professional women’s softball league featuring four teams playing in a traditional format. The league will begin play this summer.
