Sydney Romero

University of Oklahoma '19

Hometown: San Diego, California

2019 Big 12 Conference Player of the Year

Personal: Romero holds dual citizenship in Mexico and the United States. A standout both on and off the field, Romero won two NCAA championships as a graduate assistant at the University of Oklahoma while earning her master’s degree in adult and higher education with an emphasis in intercollegiate athletics administration. She was also a member of the 2022 NFCA Division I National Coaching Staff of the Year with the Sooners. On June 25, 2023, Romero was named an assistant softball coach at the University of Oregon after spending the 2023 season at Duke, where she helped guide the Blue Devils to a 48-12 record and a berth in the NCAA Super Regionals. Romero comes from a highly athletic family. Her sister, Sierra Romero, is also a professional softball player and a graduate of the University of Michigan.
