Jocelyn Erickson is a 5-foot-10 professional softball catcher from Phoenix, Arizona. She was acquired by the Chicago Bandits with the No. 5 overall pick in the first round of the 2026 AUSL College Draft following a collegiate career at Oklahoma and Florida.

Personal Life

Family: Daughter of David and Jeanine Erickson. One of five children in her family. Brother, Brendon, played baseball at BYU from 2013-15. Sisters Emilee and Kaylee played softball at BYU.

Education & Career: Majored in sport management at Florida. Aspires to become a college softball coach or work in communications for a team in either Major League Baseball or the National Football League.

Background: Named the Gatorade Arizona Softball Player of the Year in 2022 after ranking second in the country with 25 home runs. Played volleyball and basketball as a child growing up.

Hobbies: Enjoys game nights, movie nights, exploring nature, and photography. Also likes sand volleyball and pickleball. Most prized possessions are her journal and scriptures.

2026 AUSL Regular Season: Selected by the Chicago Bandits with the No. 5 overall selection in the 2026 AUSL College Draft.

International Experience

Team USA: Member of the 2026 United States Women’s National Team Athlete Pool. Helped the United States Junior National Team win the 2019 Pan-American Championship.

College Experience: Oklahoma & Florida

Career Statistics: Three-year letter winner at Florida after starting her college career at Oklahoma as a freshman. Earned a starting assignment in 228-of-255 career games. Finished her career with a .360 average while accumulating 58 home runs and 251 RBIs. Totaled 241 hits, including 57 doubles and three triples, while scoring 201 career runs.

Florida (2024–2026): Logged a .364 average in three seasons at Florida while starting 196-of-198 games. One of five players in Florida history with 50 or more home runs after belting 51 home runs. Ranks fourth in program laurels with 219 career RBIs. Collected 206 hits, including 46 doubles and three triples.

Senior Year (2026, Florida): Gators’ second-leading hitter with a .400 average. Ranked second on the team with 80 hits and 71 runs scored. Became the sixth player in program history to hit 20 or more home runs in a single season after leading the Gators with 21 homers. Paced Florida with 74 RBIs and ranked second on the team with 24 multi-hit games.

Junior Year (2025, Florida): One of four Florida players to start all 65 games. Batted .303 with 53 hits, including 15 home runs and two triples, while adding 59 RBIs. Led Florida by being hit by a pitch 15 times. Outstanding defender who committed just one error in 315 chances for a .997 fielding percentage. Hit her first career grand slam in an NCAA Regional victory over Florida Atlantic on May 17, 2025.

Sophomore Year (2024, Florida): Set a Florida single-season record with 86 RBIs en route to securing NFCA Player of the Year distinction. Starter in 68-of-69 games who boasted a .382 batting average with 15 home runs and 15 doubles. Scored 50 runs while drawing 44 walks. Posted a .994 fielding percentage with just two errors in 322 chances to earn the Rawlings Gold Glove Award.

Freshman Year (2023, Oklahoma): Appeared in 57 games with 32 starts. Batted .337 with seven home runs and 32 RBIs. Tallied 11 doubles and eight walks. Did not record an error in 124 chances.

Awards & Honors

National Honors: Recognized as the 2024 NFCA Division I Player of the Year and Catcher of the Year. Top-25 Finalist for the 2026 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award.

Defensive Honors: Two-time recipient of the Rawlings Gold Glove Award after earning the honor in 2025 and 2026.

All-America: Received First-Team All-America honors from Softball America as a senior, along with Second-Team All-America status from D1Softball. Named to the 2024 Softball America All-America First Team.

Conference & Region Honors: Two-time First-Team All-Southeastern Conference honoree and a three-time NFCA All-Region selection.
