Devyn Netz

University of Arizona '25

Hometown: Sierra Madre, California

Personal: Netz is the daughter of Dan and Lisa Netz and has two brothers. Her brother, Dawson, plays baseball at Arizona. She has a dog named Sophie. Netz models her game after Lauren Haeger. Among her proudest accomplishments are graduating from college and being named the Big 12 Conference Player of the Year. In her free time, she enjoys dancing and attending country music concerts. She also knows how to play the acoustic guitar. She chose to wear No. 34 because both David Ortiz and Bryce Harper wore the number, and she also wore it during her career at Arizona.

2025 AUSL All-Star Cup: Netz secured a seventh-place finish in her first AUSL All-Star Cup campaign after collecting 1,078 leaderboard points. She earned 850 win points and added 148 stat points while receiving two Game MVP awards. Netz tied for second in the league with seven games of at least 100 leaderboard points and also recorded two games with 150 or more points. She served as a team captain during Series Three and posted a 1–2 record during that stretch. Offensively, Netz led the AUSL All-Star Cup field with four doubles and tied for fourth among all hitters with seven runs scored and five walks. She ranked eighth in the league with a .429 on-base percentage and compiled a .304 batting average while starting nine games. Netz also made one appearance in the circle during the competition. She closed Series Three with back-to-back two-hit performances against Team Ricketts and Team Coffey. Netz earned MVP 1 honors against Team Coffey after collecting a season-high 220 leaderboard points and claimed MVP 3 recognition against Team Ricketts with a 100-point performance. She added 150 leaderboard points in the Series Four opener against Team Ricketts while contributing a double.

2025 AUSL Regular Season: Netz appeared in 22 total games during her first professional season while splitting time between the Bandits and the Blaze. She was acquired by the Blaze on July 11 in exchange for infielder Danielle Gibson Whorton. Netz saw action in 14 games as a hitter for the Bandits, compiling a .273 batting average with two home runs and seven runs batted in while collecting 12 hits and scoring six runs. She recorded four multi-hit games prior to the trade, including a three-hit performance against the Blaze on June 20, when she went 3-for-3 with a home run, three runs scored, and three runs batted in. Netz recorded her first professional hit with a double against the Talons on June 8 at Parkway Bank Sports Complex. In the circle, Netz made five appearances for the Bandits and posted a 1–2 record with a 5.09 earned run average, striking out seven batters over 11.0 innings. She earned her first professional pitching win with two strikeouts over 3.1 scoreless innings of relief against the Volts on June 13. After joining the Blaze, Netz started eight games as a hitter and recorded a .211 batting average with four hits, including one home run. She also made four appearances in the circle for the Blaze, registering a 2.42 earned run average with three strikeouts over 8.2 innings. Netz allowed one run on three hits over 1.2 innings against the Volts in a July 12 victory and threw 3.0 scoreless innings while allowing one hit in a July 19 start against the Talons.

College Experience: Netz was an outstanding two-way player at Arizona from 2021 to 2025. Although she did not play during the 2024 season due to injury, she appeared in 121 career games as a pitcher, making 76 starts, and played in 160 games as a hitter, including 135 starts. Netz was the recipient of the 2025 NCAA Division I Rawlings Gold Glove Award® and was a Top 10 Finalist for the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year in 2025. During her redshirt senior year, she earned First-Team All-America honors from Softball America and D1Softball, along with a spot on the NFCA All-America Second Team. She was also named the 2025 Big 12 Conference Player of the Year after leading the Wildcats to an NCAA Tournament berth. One of her highlights was striking out 11 batters in a complete game victory over San Diego on March 31, 2023. Offensively, she ranked second on the team with 13 home runs and hit .303.
