Kat Sandercock

Kat Sandercock is a 5-foot-11 professional softball pitcher from McLean, Virginia. She was acquired in the 1st Round of the 2026 Allocation Draft following a collegiate career at Florida State.

Personal Life

Hobbies: Enjoys reading, hiking, exploring different cities, and concerts.

Education & Background: Majored in psychology at Florida State. Lists playing in Japan, playing in two NCAA championships, and being in the Little League Museum as her proudest accomplishments.

Family: Daughter of Trish and Colin Sandercock. Her grandfather, Harold Sandercock, played in the Boston Red Sox organization after graduating from college in the 1940s.

Athletes Unlimited Softball League (2023–)

2026 AUSL Postseason (Chicago Bandits): Sandercock appeared in two postseason games for the Bandits, allowing three runs on five hits over 4.0 innings in a no-decision outing against Portland during the Play-In Game.

2026 AUSL Regular Season (Chicago Bandits): Sandercock compiled a 4-1 record with 26 strikeouts over 40.1 innings, ranking fourth in the AUSL with a 2.43 earned run average. She limited opponents to a .225 batting average, good for fifth in the league, and ranked third in the AUSL after allowing just 14 earned runs and 40 hits. She threw three complete games during the season. On July 11, at Portland, Sandercock scattered five hits with a season-high six strikeouts in a complete-game shutout win. On July 2, also against Portland, she gave up two earned runs with three strikeouts over 5.0 innings in an 11-3 victory. On July 5, against Texas, she conceded one run on seven hits with three strikeouts in a 2-1 triumph.

2024 Championship Season: Tied for the league lead with 13 appearances and set a new AU Pro Softball single-season record with four saves while pitching to a 2.56 ERA.

2023 Championship Season: Earned a 22nd-place finish in her rookie season, registering three saves and a 2.05 ERA in 30.2 innings.

Other Professional Experience

Other Professional Experience: No. 6 overall selection in 2023 Women’s Professional Fastpitch Draft by Texas Smoke. She has played for SGH Galaxy Stars in the Japan Diamond League since 2023.

International Experience

International: Won a Gold medal with Team USA at the 2017 WBSC Junior Women’s World Championship with a 1.40 ERA, and competed at the 2023 Pan American Games.

College Experience: Florida State (2019–2023)

Sandercock finished her career with a 107-12 record, a 1.44 ERA, and 489 strikeouts in 718.0 innings. She led Florida State to a pair of NCAA Women’s College World Series appearances and two Atlantic Coast Conference crowns.

Career Milestones: She is Florida State’s career saves leader (18) and pitched the first perfect game in FSU’s NCAA Tournament history.

Senior Year (2023): Honored as ACC Pitcher of the Year after going 28-4 with a 1.12 ERA and a program-record 10 saves.
