Sis Bates is a 5-foot-4 professional softball middle infielder from Ceres, California. She was acquired in the 3rd Round of the 2026 Allocation Draft following a collegiate career at Washington.


Personal Life


Education & Career: Graduated from Washington in 2020 and returned to pursue a master's degree in education.

Background: First name is Nicole, but earned the nickname "Sis" while playing wiffle ball in her neighborhood. Has worn No. 22 during her entire career because her mother wore the number while playing sports.

Professional Experience


Athletes Unlimited Pro Softball, AUX & AUSL (2021–2025)


2025 AUSL All-Star Cup: Claimed 24th place on the final leaderboard with 818 points. Earned a starting assignment in 7-of-8 games, registering one hit in 13 at-bats with one run scored.

2025 AUSL Regular Season: Earned a starting assignment in 16-of-20 appearances for the Volts, posting a .229 batting average with eight hits, five runs, and three RBIs.

2024 Championship Season: Tallied 1,018 leaderboard points. Started all 15 games, hitting .327 with two doubles and a home run. Led the league with four stolen bases.

2023 Championship Season: Accumulated 786 leaderboard points and was named to the AU Pro Softball All-Defensive Team. Started all 15 games with a .171 batting average.

2023 AUX Season: Secured 976 leaderboard points to finish ninth overall. Hit .333 with 11 hits and five RBIs.

2022 Championship Season: Compiled 1,024 leaderboard points, hitting .238 with 10 hits.

2022 AUX Season: Inaugural AUX Softball Defensive MVP. Started all 12 games, hitting .220 with nine hits and five RBIs.

2021 Championship Season: Finished ninth with 1,468 leaderboard points. Hit .326 with 14 hits.


International Experience (2017–2024)

Team USA: Won Gold at the 2017 WBSC Junior Women’s World Championship and the 2022 Pan American Championship. Helped Team USA win first place at the 2023 WBSC World Cup Group A and a Gold medal at the 2023 Pan American Games. Guided Team USA to Silver at the 2024 WBSC World Cup Finals.

College Experience: Washington (2017–2021)


Career Statistics: Started all 261 career games, fashioning a .385 batting average with nine home runs and 145 RBIs. Closed her career as Washington’s all-time leader with 320 hits.


Awards & Honors

All-America: Three-time NFCA All-America, including First-Team recognition as a sophomore and junior.

Conference Honors: Three-time Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year.
