Sierra Romero is a 5-foot-5 professional softball middle infielder from Murrieta, California. She was acquired in the 12th Round of the 2025 Inaugural Draft following a collegiate career at Michigan.


Personal Life


Background: Sister, Sydney, won NCAA titles at Oklahoma. Brother, Michael, was a first-round draft pick of the Boston Red Sox. Inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame in 2023.

Trivia: Owns a softball development app called “The 32 Approach”.


Professional Experience


Athletes Unlimited Pro Softball, AUX & AUSL (2022–2025)


2025 AUSL All-Star Cup: Earned 870 points, batting .290 with two home runs and seven RBIs.

2025 AUSL Regular Season: Started 23 games for the Volts, authoring a .288 batting average with one home run and five doubles.

2024 Championship Season: Totaled 1,070 points, posting a .250 average with two home runs.

2023 Championship Season: Finished 13th with 1,430 points, hitting .260 with four doubles.

2022 AUX Season: Finished 12th with 1,134 points. Hit the first home run in AUX Softball history on June 13. Hit .409 over 11 games.


Other Professional & International Experience (2013–2018)


NPF: No. 2 overall selection by the USSSA Pride in 2016. Hit .346 with 19 home runs over a three-year career.

International: Competed for Team USA at the 2013 ISF Junior Women’s World Championship (hit .500) and has competed for Team Mexico.


College Experience: Michigan (2013–2016)


Romero started 252-of-253 games at Michigan.


Career Statistics: Authored a .441 career batting average with 82 home runs and 305 RBIs. First player in NCAA history to register 300 runs, 300 hits, and 300 RBIs. Holds NCAA records in runs scored (302) and grand slams (11).


Awards & Honors


National Honors: 2016 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year. Four-time All-America selection (three First-Team awards).

Conference Honors: Three-time Big Ten Player of the Year.
