Softball and baseball in the Lone Star State came together this week as Volts catcher Michaela Edenfield threw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Texas Rangers game against the Athletics.

The Volts are one of the six Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL) franchises and have an existing connection and collaboration with the Rangers. The Volts call Dell Diamond home, along with the Round Rock Express, the Triple-A Minor League Baseball affiliate of the Texas Rangers. The two will share the field and facility this summer, working in the Volt’s 14-game home schedule around the Express’s minor league slate in June and July.

Edenfield and the Volts will open up the season on June 9 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where they will face the Spark in a three-game series. The team will make its home debut on June 18. Tickets are on sale now.
