Playing for Athletes in Action

Personal: Sacco is the daughter of Shea and Patrick Sacco and majored in business administration at Mississippi State. On May 4, 2025, she became engaged to Mississippi State football student-athlete Kyle Ferrie. Sacco is the first college athlete in her family and has made a lasting impact both on and off the field. Her favorite breakfast is Nutella toast with strawberries, and she has a unique talent—she knows how to juggle. Sacco enjoys spending her free time with her friends, fiancé, and her dogs, including one named Cody Johnson, named in honor of the country music singer. A two-sport athlete in high school, Sacco also played volleyball and competed in track and field as a child. She credits her high school softball coach, Beav Fabacher, as someone who made a significant impact on her journey. Sacco models her game after elite outfielders Haylie McCleney and Aliyah Andrews, and recalls feeling starstruck when McCleney waved to her during the SEC Tournament. Sacco plans to continue her softball journey as a graduate assistant for the Mississippi State softball team in the future. Among her proudest accomplishments are earning All-America honors and becoming a professional softball player. She also won two state high school softball championships in Sulphur, Louisiana—an early testament to her winning mindset and talent.

College Experience: Sacco is a two-year letter winner at Mississippi State, where she completed an impressive collegiate softball career after beginning at Louisiana Tech. Over 227 career starts, Sacco compiled a .397 batting average with 13 home runs, 99 runs batted in, and 272 hits—including 37 doubles and nine triples. She also stole 99 bases in 137 attempts, showcasing her all-around offensive talent and speed. As a senior, Sacco started all 58 games for Mississippi State and was named a First-Team All-American by both Softball America and the NFCA. She also earned Second-Team All-America honors from D1Softball and was a Top 25 Finalist for the 2025 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award. Sacco was a First-Team selection for both the NFCA All-South Region and the All-Southeastern Conference (SEC) teams. She set career highs in home runs (11) and RBIs (49) while leading the Bulldogs to the NCAA Tournament. During her junior year, Sacco started all 54 games in center field for Mississippi State. She led the team with a .347 batting average and ranked sixth in the SEC with a .492 on-base percentage. She also led the Bulldogs with 19 stolen bases—fifth-most in the SEC—while contributing 54 runs scored and 43 walks, both ranking in the top six in the conference. Her 0.80 walks per game average ranked third in NCAA Division I during the 2024 season. Before transferring to Mississippi State, Sacco was a standout at Louisiana Tech, where she was a two-time All-Conference USA First Team selection. She posted a .392 batting average over two seasons, totaling 139 hits, 12 doubles, four triples, 31 RBIs, and 94 runs across 115 games. In the 2023 season, she led Louisiana Tech in hits (56), walks (41), runs (40), and stolen bases (36), ranking among national leaders in both walks and steals. As a freshman in 2022, Sacco was named the Conference USA Freshman of the Year and was a Top 10 Finalist for the NFCA National Freshman of the Year award. She batted .441 and set a Louisiana Tech single-season record with 83 hits. She also scored 54 runs, drew a team-high 36 walks, and finished second in Conference USA with 28 stolen bases.
