Duke’s very own Ana Gold was at the hot corner and on a hot mic during the Carolina Blaze’s debut in Durham, N.C on Tuesday.

The Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL) team opened up 2026 in their new home at Smith Family Stadium, picking up the victory with a 4-1 win over the Portland Cascade.

Gold had on a mic and earpiece during the game and chatted with broadcasters Kenzie Fowler Quinn and Eric Collins at the top of the third inning. She was a pro at multitasking, making the out against her former Blue Devil teammate, Kelly Torres.

The second-year star also talked about her prep during the offseason after taking the league by storm and earning Rookie of the Year in 2025. Plus, she shared what it’s been like playing with some new faces beside her in the infield.

Gold and the Blaze will continue their home opener this week with Wednesday’s game at 8 p.m. ET and game three against the Cascade on Thursday at 5 p.m. ET.
