From early morning school drop-offs to evening dance practices, Carolina Blaze veteran pitcher Keilani Ricketts wears plenty of hats during the offseason.
Ricketts recently gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at her daily routine, sharing a photo diary of what a typical day looks like as a professional athlete, college softball coach and mom.
Her day begins at 6:45 a.m. with a cozy morning at home before breakfast and school drop-off with her daughter, Elizabeth. After squeezing in a run and rehab session, Ricketts heads to work at the University of the Pacific, where she is an assistant softball coach.
Between time in the office and working with pitchers, catchers and hitters, the two-time USA Softball Player of the Year stays connected to the game beyond her own professional career.
Ricketts joined the University of the Pacific coaching staff in July 2024 and has continued to balance her coaching responsibilities with her professional playing career. During the 2026 AUSL season, she made a league-record 17 appearances for the Blaze, recording 26 strikeouts across 39.2 innings.
After a full day on the softball field, Ricketts day continues with dance practice with Elizabeth and preparing lunches for the next day before she winds down with some reading.
