Chicago sports pride ran strong at the Cubs game on Thursday night, as pro softball player Bella Dayton threw out the first pitch. Dayton is an outfielder for the Chicago Bandits, the Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL) team that calls the city home, too.

Dayton had a packed day representing the franchise – she appeared on Marquee Sports Network to preview the season and talk about the 2026 team. Then, after throwing out the first pitch, she led Wrigley Field in “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” during the seventh inning.

Dayton and the Bandits will open up the season on June 9 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to face the Utah Talons in a three-game series. They will make their home debut on June 13. Tickets are on sale now.
