Bandits Win No. 1 Selection in AUSL Draft Lottery
The Bandits will have the first overall selection in the Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL) Inaugural Draft on January 29 at 8 p.m. ET.
Bandits General Manager Jenny Dalton-Hill and Head Coach Stacey Nuveman-Deniz, who secured the No. 1 pick via a draft lottery, will be followed by the Blaze, Talons, and Volts. To ensure parity, picks will be selected in a rotating draft order. The first pick of each round will rotate among the four teams as follows:
- Round 1: Bandits, Blaze, Talons, Volts
- Round 2: Blaze, Talons, Volts, Bandits
- Round 3: Talons, Volts, Bandits, Blaze
- Round 4: Volts, Bandits, Blaze, Talons
The AUSL Inaugural Draft will determine the initial 12 players to be selected to play for each of the league’s first four teams.
The draft will stream live on the ESPN App and the AUSL YouTube channel at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday, January 29. ESPN analyst Andraya Carter will host the show, with analysis provided by veteran ESPN softball commentators Amanda Scarborough and Danielle Lawrie.
The AUSL is a professional women’s softball league featuring four teams playing in a traditional format. The league will begin play this summer.
