One of the top pitchers in college softball has signed to compete in the Athletes Unlimited Softball League. Emiley Kennedy has signed with the Bandits after being selected by the club on May 3 in the 2025 AUSL College Draft with the seventh overall pick.
“Lefty” is now one of two southpaws on the Bandits roster as the only team to carry two left-handed pitchers. The Bandits needed another pitcher who could handle the starting role, which Kennedy has embraced since her freshman year at Texas A&M. Despite becoming the go-to starter over the past two seasons, Kennedy showcased she was comfortable out of the bullpen too, jumping in to help the team a handful of times in April and May.
She spent four years under the tutelage of Aggie’s Trisha Ford, known for developing hurlers. By 2024, she was named to the NFCA All-America Second Team, becoming the first left-handed pitcher to earn All-American status in 41 years.
Kennedy finished her final collegiate season with a 21-6 record with a 3.20 ERA in 157.2 innings of work. She tossed 19 complete games and struck out 149 hitters.
She’ll bring a fresh look to games for the Bandits with a wide arsenal of pitches to mix up looks, including a rise ball, drop ball, changeup, and curve.
The AUSL is a professional women’s softball league featuring four teams playing in a traditional format. Tickets to the 2025 season are on sale now.
