The Bandits selected utility player Cori McMillan out of Virginia Tech with the No. 4 pick of the 2025 Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL) College Draft on Saturday evening. General Manager Jenny Dalton-Hill and Head Coach Stacey Nuveman-Deniz also added pitching depth, selecting Texas A&M pitcher Emiley Kennedy and Arizona pitcher Devyn Netz to complete their draftee selections.

Round 1, Pick 4: Cori McMillan, Utility, Virginia Tech

McMillan’s formidable presence in the batter’s box and versatility in the field make her a prime selection for the Bandits. She was a 2025 Preseason First Team All-American selection and has been electric this season with 67 hits, 27 home runs, and 57 RBIs.

Her senior year builds on a massive 2024 campaign. She broke Virginia Tech’s single-season home run record with 21 blasts, drove in 64 runs, and went a perfect 20-for-20 on stolen base attempts. Before her time in Blacksburg, McMillan starred at Radford, where she was an NFCA Top-25 Freshman of the Year Finalist in 2022. She compiled a .345 average, 17 home runs, 59 RBIs, and 31 stolen bases over two seasons with the Highlanders.

Round 2, Pick 3: Emiley Kennedy, Right-Handed Pitcher, Texas A&M

Kennedy received Preseason First-Team All-America honors and has dominated in the circle this season. The lefty has a 19-4 record, 132 strikeouts, and 138.2 innings pitched ahead of the SEC Tournament.

She became the first left-handed pitcher in 41 years to be named an NFCA All-American in 2024, receiving Second Team honors. She also became the first Aggie in 13 seasons to reach double-digit shutouts and the first in 11 to surpass 200 strikeouts. She finished her junior year ranked in the top 20 nationally in wins (24), strikeouts (200), innings pitched (202.2), shutouts (10), and complete games (24).

Round 3, Pick 2: Devyn Netz, Right-Handed Pitcher, Arizona

A fifth-year Wildcat, Netz is a two-way player who performs in the circle and at the plate. She has a 19-5 record with a 2.00 ERA, a .349 batting average, and 17 home runs.

Netz became the 11th player in Arizona softball history to pitch a perfect game against BYU. In that same game, she launched a home run. In a breakout junior season, she started 30 games in the circle, 12 as the designated player, and six at first base. She hit .303 on the year with 13 home runs and authored a 16-16 record with a 3.88 ERA.
